Elise Rasmussen

Bio Elise Rasmussen (b. 1977, Edmonton) is a research-based artist working in photography, video and performance. Her work has been exhibited, performed and screened internationally including the Brooklyn Museum (NY), CCS Bard Hessel Museum (Annandale-on-Hudson), Pioneer Works (NY), Night Gallery (LA), Standpoint Gallery (London), Dazibao (Montreal), and TRUCK (Calgary). Elise received her MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago on a Merit Scholarship (2007) and her BFA(Hons) from Ryerson University (2004). She has been an artist in residence at a number of institutions including the Irish Museum of Modern Art (Dublin), the Nirox Foundation (South Africa),The Shandaken Project (Storm King), and SOMA (Mexico City) and has been awarded grants from the Canada Council for the Arts, the Jerome Foundation, and the Banff Centre. Elise lives in Brooklyn, NY and is currently an artist in residence at LMCC Workspace (NY).
